The well-known Williams Brothers used to sing a song with the lyrics, I’m just a nobody, trying to tell everybody, about somebody, who can save anybody. It made me think of the sermon last week about being witnesses for Jesus, and how we allow so many opportunities to do so, just pass us by.
Then I thought, Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God; accepted and carried out the will of the Father, over His own. He was crucified for your sins and mine; beaten; ridiculed; spit on; nailed to the cross and stabbed; until He died. Our Lord caused a series of supernatural events, including causing saints who died before Him, to rise and show themselves. Jesus Christ remained in the grave three days, until time for God’s glory of the resurrection, to be revealed. Jesus is alive; and at the right time showed Himself to His followers; filling them with knowledge to witness to others; through His command of the Great Commission.
People that’s Easter. And I don’t know anyone that doesn’t like holidays and special occasions.
In a sermon I heard a few weeks ago, the last verse in the passage Acts 2:1-21 read, “But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” So, let’s stop passing up opportunities to witness for our risen Savior. Let’s stop being lukewarm for the Gospel of Christ. Let’s stop holding back when we know we need, to share the Lord.
If you’re looking for a way to witness for the Jesus, it’s right in front of you. Start speaking in your own tongue to draw others to God! Just tell’em, about Easter.
