One of the songs I grew up singing in church was “When We All Get to Heaven. What a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus, we will sing and shout the victory.” What a beautiful song it is, but WE don’t mean all of us. We all aren’t going to make it. Heaven is for every person; but not every person will get there. You must choose The Way to be with Jesus.
Another song one of my uncles liked is, “What A Friend We Have in Jesus. All our sins and grieves to bear. What a privilege it is to carry, everything to God in prayer.” Jesus will bear our sins. He will bear our burdens. He will accept everything we bring to Him. But we MUST take it to Him. He has already died for those sins, and any others forthcoming. But we are only covered, if we accept Him as our Lord and our Savior.
Folks, Heaven is not a gimme. “Going Up Yonder” to be with the Lord takes opening your heart to Him first. Jesus did pay it all; but all won’t be paid. He paid it for those who love Him, believe in Him, and live their lives for Him. That can include everyone, but God knows there will be ones that love the things of this world, better than the things of Christ.
Another song we sang and is one of my mom’s favorites is, “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me…” It can save a wretch like you too; if you’ll accept the gift freely offered on the cross. The gift of salvation and eternal life by His death and resurrection. That’s grace; and it’s by grace, that we are saved. But you must believe He is the Son of God, that He made that sacrifice; and that He rose from that grave.
Our “Precious Lord” will take your hand. He will lead you on and let you stand, even when weak and worn. Jesus Christ, our God will lead you home to Heaven, if you choose life. Accept the gift! That amazing grace is free for the taking. An offering from our great God. His grace and mercy allow us to be free in Him; to live free for Him.
“How Great is Our God?” Wrapped in light as darkness tries to hide. I tell you there is no place large enough for darkness to hide. But His mercies are new every morning. His love for us should make us want to sing; to praise His holy name.
Lord, “How Great Thy Art.” “When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation. And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, and then proclaim, my God, how great Thou art.” He is beyond anything we can imagine or think. God established Heaven as the destination, and Jesus as The Way. And folks Jesus is coming back, for those that belong to Him. Two questions I have are: Are you His yet? And do you want to go?
