Oops, Too Late

The time is coming when time ends, in this world anyway.  We will run out of it.  Life as we know it, is over.  But it doesn’t have to be over for us if we make the best decision we can ever make, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  He has returned to the Father to prepare a place for those who make the right choice.  And when things are ready, He’s coming back.  For those who haven’t believed in Him, now is the time.  John 17:2-3 reads, “For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.”  People Jesus is real, and He is the only way to the Father and the eternal life He promises.  Romans 10:9 states, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”  That’s it, no other way.  So, choose now and choose Jesus.  Don’t allow your life to end with an oops moment as it did in Noah’s and Lot’s day, where an unwise decision or no decision, was their last decision.

The book of Matthew tells us to be ready, Jesus is coming back, and it will be at an hour we do not expect.  And we read in Luke 17:26-37, “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days, the people enjoyed banquets, parties, and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all. “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying, and selling, farming and building— until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed. On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home. Remember what happened to Lot’s wife! If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it. That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it. “Where will this happen, Lord?” the disciples asked. Jesus replied, “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”   Let go of your business-as-usual life.  It is so much better with Jesus.  Be the one taken, not the one left behind.

We must be ready when the Son of Man returns, and not have an oops moment occur.  I’m not talking about the job where you see workers show up a couple minutes or more late every day.  They may or not be counseled, which may or may not change their behavior.  I’m not talking about someone speeding down the road trying to make up for a couple minutes and may or may not get pulled over.  I’m not talking about trying to eat healthy in later years to make up for overeating an entire life, which may or may not be successful.  No.  There is no make-up when choosing to follow Christ.  When it’s time, it’s time.  And I’m talking about you!  If you haven’t made the decision to acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, do it today, while the clock is still ticking.  Please don’t deny or refuse the Son of God and spend eternity in the lake of fire known as Hell.  Make the right choice, the best choice, the greatest decision ever.  Do it before the last seconds tick off your clock.  There is no second half or overtime.  He is coming back.  And if your choice isn’t made or isn’t Him, oops, too late.
