TAPPING OUT!

“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever.  Amen.”  (Ephesians 3:20–21)

Most of us are easily drawn into the world’s game, the hate, jealousy, pride, the nastiness, and filth, etc.  We can never win this game.  But if we know the Game Changer, we can win in the end.  He is one who can replace the dark spiraling death we are heading for, with life eternal.  It requires surrender, a total, complete submission to the King.  We have to tap out here to get in there.  He is a Potter standing by to take the wet, messy blob of clay we represent, and turn it into a masterpiece.  To mold us into something useful, useful for the Kingdom.  God will never give up on us.   In fact, John 10:28 reads, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.”  Praise the Lord for His promise, and praise Him for His love.

In Jeremiah 18, we read how devoted God is to us.  He has determined us as worthy.  He puts in the heavy work and so must we.  God wants us to want Him, to love Him, to establish relationship with Him.  However, we require a lot of work and rework.  Jeremiah 18:4-6 reads, “But the jar he was making did not turn out as he had hoped, so he crushed it into a lump of clay again and started over.  Then the Lord gave me this message:  “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.”  I don’t know about you, but I am glad to be in His hand.  Whatever reshaping or remolding is necessary in my life Lord, I want to tap out of worldly passions and desires, and tap into the breath of life, the bread of life, and the living water offered freely through a relationship with You, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

The more God puts into making us who He wants us to be, the brighter His glory shines.  Romans 9:21-23 states, “When a potter makes jars out of clay, doesn’t he have a right to use the same lump of clay to make one jar for decoration and another to throw garbage into?  In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction.  He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory.”  God’s love for us can be shown through His patience.  He prepared us in advance for the riches of His glory.  We have to recognize His call and give in to His prompting.  We must choose Jesus.  We have to tap out from the world and tap into the kingdom.  The call to tap into the supernatural power of God requires earnestly desiring and pursuing spiritual gifts with passion, and using them to edify the church, one church. Galatians 3:28 says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”  Let’s tap.
