Wake Up, Get Up, and Show Up

One Sunday morning,  I lay in bed asking God to put it on the hearts of man to arise and come worship the Lord.  I would love to see more and more people recognize and acknowledge God and what He has done for us.   There is so much to be thankful for and no better place to worship God than in His house.  The Bible book of Acts 2:42 speaks of devoting to teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.  With our whole hearts, we should be praising Him.  God deserves our all.  In Romans 12:1 we read, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

God has shown us mercy in sending His son Jesus to die in our place.  He loves us that much, and His mercies, are new every morning.  Lamentations 3:22-24 states, “The faithful love of the Lord never ends!  His mercies never cease.  Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.  I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”  The is no greater love than the love of God, because Love, is what God is.

There are numerous ways God reveals His love for us.  Psalm 37:4 tells us if we delight in God, He will give us the desires of our heart.  I pray one desire is to come to know Jesus.  There is no greater gift.  Whether we believe it or not, Jesus is!  He is our Redeemer; He is our Savior; and He is our Friend.  We can do nothing to change that, but we CAN strengthen what we have in Him.  We do that through worship.  “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!” reads Psalm 95:6.

God offers all of us the opportunity for eternity.  He included each of us in His plan by giving us life and allowing us to choose how we live it.  But to have life eternal, we must also choose Jesus.  Jesus is the only way to the Father.  And only with the Father, can we experience life eternal.  Think about that as we lay in bed on Sunday mornings.  He helped us wake up; let us be thankful.  We are prompted to get up; let us rejoice we are able.  Desire to show up; let us worship He alone who is worthy.  As stated in Psalm 150:6, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
