I Pledge Allegiance

I voluntarily served in the armed forces for 26 1/2 years (Army Guard and Air Force) followed by 16 years in the federal government.  I swore an oath to, among other things, support and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.  Over the years the biggest threat to our constitution is domestic enemies.  They have put the United in United States into question.  And I believe they seek to destroy democracy as we know it.  Our freedoms are under attack.  I don’t want to be like China, Russia, South Korea, or any other non-democratic nation.  The free and democratic society established when America was birthed is what I served to support and defend.  The America they have in mind does not include or will place limits on a lot of us, and the threats posed cannot be overlooked.  We still, for now at least, have the right to vote.  I pray all of us will exercise that right every election.  And before casting that ballot, ensure we know what’s at stake, and what values the candidate represents.  I pledge allegiance to the United States of America; and to the Republic, for which it stands, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty, and Justice for all.  America was founded on biblical principles and In God We Trust.  Vote from the heart and not the head, but vote, and vote every time.
